Claire Melbourne
began performing while at UCSC where she received her BA in Community Studies. After college, Claire furthered her dance studies at City College of San Francisco and NYU’s Dance Education Masters Program. Returning to Santa Cruz to teach elementary school in 2011, Claire was assistant choreographer and a lead dancer for Julie Beth Ingraham's 3 Weeks at the 418 Project (2011) and performed with Dietzman and Co.’s it just is at Motion Pacific in 2012. Claire recently presented her first full length show as a choreographer, A Real Winner(2015), at Motion Pacific in Santa Cruz. As a collaborator/dancer with Cid Pearlman/Performance Group, Claire loves the opportunity to create and discover within dance. In addition to work as a dancer and choreographer, Claire is a 4th/5th grade classroom teacher. She is also part of the Luna Dance Summer Institute 2014.
