Juliet ParamorĀ was born and raised in Anacortes, Washington. She began formal training in classical ballet at four years old, under John Bishop at the Northwest Ballet Theater, and continued her training under Dusanka Ivanova upon moving to Florida in her early teens. Juliet is currently finishing her final year at UCSC, studying Human Biology and Dance. Since acoming to Santa Cruz, she has performed and choreographed in a variety of events each year, including Random With A Purpose, Barnstorm, Open Showings and original works by Gerald Casel and Cid Pearlman. In November of 2015 she created choreography for the UCSC opera production, Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was a director of the 2016 production of Random With A Purpose. Juliet is a founding member of Shift the Grid, a Santa Cruz/Bay Area based dance collective. Since 2014 the collective has performed original dances in Santa Cruz, and premiered their first evening length work, Vacancy. She is happy to have the opportunity to work with Cid Pearlman, again, on her Year of Free.
